TCLC News - June 9, 2026
This week at Triumphant Cross: WELCA Wednesday evening, Prayers for the Church Thursday, Sunday worship with a potluck fellowship and council meeting. Plus, a new blog reflection on Matthew 9.
Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ!
Here is a look at what's happening at Triumphant Cross Lutheran Church this week.
The Word for This Week
Therefore, holy brothers and sisters, who share in the heavenly calling, fix your thoughts on Jesus, whom we acknowledge as our apostle and high priest. He was faithful to the one who appointed him, just as Moses was faithful in all God's house. Jesus has been found worthy of greater honor than Moses, just as the builder of a house has greater honor than the house itself. For every house is built by someone, but God is the builder of everything. Moses was faithful as a servant in all God's house, bearing witness to what would be spoken by God in the future. But Christ is faithful as the Son over God's house. And we are his house, if indeed we hold firmly to our confidence and the hope in which we glory.
New This Week
We recently published a reflection on Matthew 9:9-26, where Jesus reclines at table with tax collectors and sinners — and the religious crowd takes notice. It is a challenging and hopeful word for all of us: Jesus Eats With Sinners — And That Should Make Us Uncomfortable.

Prayers for Our Church This Week
Lord Jesus, we come to you at the close of this day with our thoughts scattered and our hearts weary. Remind us again that we are your house — built not by our own striving but by your faithfulness.
As we begin this week, help us to fix our thoughts on you, to hold firmly to our confidence in your promises, and to rest in the hope that does not disappoint. Guide our congregation through all that lies ahead, and may we be found faithful, as you are faithful. Amen.
We lift the following to God in prayer:
Wednesday, June 10
- Prayers for WELCA, 6:30 PM - Gracious God, we thank you for the women gathered here tonight. Bless their fellowship — the laughter, the honest conversation, and the care they show for one another and for this congregation. Guide their work, stir their hearts with your Spirit, and send them home strengthened in faith and friendship.
Thursday, June 11
- Prayers for the Church, 6:00 PM — Lord, we gather this evening to lift our congregation before you. Hear the prayers of your people, and let our intercessions rise as incense before your throne. May this time of prayer bind us together and strengthen our trust in your provision.
Sunday, June 14
- Sunday School, 8:45 AM — Send your Spirit to open our hearts and minds to your Word as we gather to study. May the Scriptures take root in us and bear fruit throughout the week.
- Worship, 10:00 AM — As we gather in your house, may all who enter be drawn closer to Christ. Let your Word be proclaimed with power and received with open, expectant hearts.
- Fellowship — Potluck, 11:00 AM — Bless those who prepare and share the meal; may our time around the table deepen our bonds as your people and reflect the joy of your coming kingdom.
- Council Meeting, 12:00 PM — Guide our Council in their deliberations. Grant them wisdom, unity of purpose, and a servant's heart as they steward the ministry of this congregation.
We are grateful for each of you. See you Sunday!
