Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ!

Here is a look at what's happening at Triumphant Cross Lutheran Church this week.

A Word for This Week

We must pay the most careful attention, therefore, to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away. For since the message spoken through angels was binding, and every violation and disobedience received its just punishment, how shall we escape if we ignore so great a salvation? This salvation, which was first announced by the Lord, was confirmed to us by those who heard him. God also testified to it by signs, wonders and various miracles, and by gifts of the Holy Spirit distributed according to his will. …

— Hebrews 2:1–9 (NIV)

Gracious God, you call us to pay careful attention to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away from the salvation announced in your Son.

As we gather this week for prayer, fellowship, and worship, anchor our hearts to your Word. When the busyness of life pulls us away from what matters most, draw us back with the same grace that first reached us.

May we never grow careless with so great a salvation.

Amen.

New This Week

Last Sunday's sermon by Pastor Kay on the Parable of the Sower (Matthew 13:1–9, 18–23) prompted a reflection well worth reading. The Parable of the Sower: What Kind of Soil Are You? explores the four types of soil through the lens of Luther's Church Postil and asks the honest question: where are you right now? Spoiler — your current soil condition is not your final one.
