Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ!
Here is a look at what's happening at Triumphant Cross Lutheran Church this week.
New This Week
"A Warm and Hearty Prayer: Christ's Deepest Desires in John 17" — On the night before He died, Jesus didn't pray for Himself first — He prayed for you. Howard Young explores what Martin Luther called a "warm and hearty prayer" and what it means that God, not you, is the one doing the sanctifying. Read the sermon.

A Word for This Week
When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them...
— Acts 2:1-11 (NIV)
Remember our Church in Prayer:
We lift the following to God in prayer:
Thursday, May 21
- Prayers for the Church, 6:00 PM — Gracious God, gather us in this evening hour. Quiet our hearts and tune our prayers to your will. As we intercede for one another and for our congregation, may your Spirit guide our words and draw us together in the bond of faith.
Sunday, May 24
- Sunday School, 8:45 AM — Lord, bless all who teach and all who learn this morning. Open every heart to receive your Word, and plant seeds of faith that will bear fruit for a lifetime.
- Worship, 10:00 AM — Gracious God, bless Mark Haynes as he leads us in Word and Sacrament on this Pentecost Sunday. As we receive the body and blood of Christ, may we be strengthened in faith, forgiven in grace, and sent out renewed by your Spirit.
- Fellowship — Potluck in the Fellowship Hall, 11:00 AM — Thank and bless all who have prepared and will serve this meal. May our time around the table deepen our bonds as a community of faith, and may we taste in this fellowship a foretaste of the feast to come.
We are grateful for each of you. See you Sunday!
